November 10, 2003Jupiter Research Reports Online Holiday Spending to Increase 21% in 2003
A survey by Jupiter Research suggests that online holiday spending will increase 21% this year to reach $17 billion. Almost 40% of Internet users will do some, or all, of their shopping online. (I'll certainly be one of them!) Perhaps the most interesting finding is that fewer users were concerned about using their credit card online (36% compared with 47% last year) which suggests that one of the biggest obstacles to online retailing is gradually being overcome.
